At Crabapple Wellness, our favorite definition of subluxation is one posited by the Australian Spinal Research Foundation:
“A vertebral subluxation is a diminished state of being, comprising of a state of reduced coherence, altered biomechanical function, altered neurological function and altered adaptability.”
Considering the nature and breadth of this definition, Corrective Chiropractic, which focuses on restoring the curvature of the spine and correcting vertebral subluxations, can have an effect on your overall well being and, of course, help you with headaches, neck pain, and back pain.
The goal of corrective chiropractic is to position your spine in the healthiest way, with the correct curves and alignment. When your spine has the correct curves and the bones are in proper alignment, your nervous system is able to function without interference. Our patients report that they feel relief from many different conditions including things like seasonal allergies and acid reflux.
Corrective Chiropractic care is not simply seeing a chiropractor when your back hurts. Only about 10% of our nerves are used to sense pain making pain an unreliable indicator of the health of your spine. You don’t notice pain or other symptoms until your nerves lose 60% of their function. That means that your nervous system could be functioning at 61% and you would still feel “fine.”
Nervous system interference contributes to nearly all health conditions. Some of the most common symptoms we see improve in our patients are:
A healthy nervous system is necessary for a healthy body. Whatever the symptom is, we believe that it can be improved by making sure that the nervous system is functioning properly. Corrective Chiropractic care focuses on empowering the nervous system through correcting subluxations, keeping you living your life as close to 100% as possible.
